VOIP Phone

Published by marcdays under Digital Phone Edit This

With the advancement of technology, many things we take for granted are advancing as time presses on. In the interest of advancement, many companies are starting to provide their own form of phone service through the internet. The method used by the phone company is called VOIP phone service.

VOIP stands for Voice Over Internet Protocol. To make it somewhat simpler, it turns the your voice into something digital, and sends it really really fast to the person on the other end, allowing the two way communication that a normal analog phone provides.

To give my readers some piece of mind, the digital transition that will take place on February 17, will not affect your digital phone and has nothing to do with the signal being transmitted.

Q and A

Many companies offer Question and Answer pages on their websites in an effort to stem calls that they receive on their Customer Service line.  As time goes on, people are utilizing more online ways to get the information they want, and I wanted to bring it to your attention.  Many different companies that offer television are already offering Question and Answer options in order to resolve many issues that come up with a television.

Whenever you are looking into a company to provide you with television entertainment or phone service, you always want to see if there is a way that they can help you online first. The number of companies that offer technicians to go to your house for free are becoming less and less. It’s unfortunate that things are getting to this point, but, in today’s economy, I just want you to be informed.

Dialing 411

Published by marcdays under Digital Phone Edit This

When dealing with people on the phone about their phone, I have realized that many people do not understand the different fee’s involved with much of what they do.  More importantly, I want to address the idea of getting numbers from 411.  In the past, it was free for people to retrieve their number from 411.    I will provide other means of retrieving information from the phone without worrying about being charged for it.

The first number I found was the number 1-800-Goog-411 (1-800-4664-411).  It is almost exactly like the regular 411 but since it’s a 1-800 number, you should not get charged at all.  Google is the company that provides that information.  Here is the link to the website pertaining to the free information number - Google 411.

The second number I found was 1-800-Free-411 (1-800-3733-411).  The differences between the regular 411 and this 411 is that you will not get charged at all for dialing it.  Here is the link for more information on this number - Free 411

The final method that anyone can utilize to get information for free is going to the website White Pages website.
